Arlon
Arlon was another Light who preferred to wander the galaxy instead of staying in one place. He never found anything to do that held his interest for very long, other than communicating with other intelligent beings.
Something Bigger
After meeting the Dren Nexus Eximius they became close friends, often discussing Eximius' idea that an extremely powerful mind was guiding their lives. He had also had visions appear from nowhere in his mind, but had always believed they were just glitches in his mind caused by overworking it. When Eximius told him and a few other Lights about her plan to merge a Lights mind with one of the newly appeared Nexus minds, he was the first to volunteer for the process. His visions had always involved seeing two minds working closely together, leading him to believe that something was telling him he was supposed to be merged.
Meeting of Minds
Before any minds were merged, Eximius had insisted they communicate with each other and discuss every possible situation that could involve conflict between the two minds. Arlon was introduced to Jack Campbell's mind during one of the phases when Jacks mind was waiting at the beginning of his life for another time wave to start everything again. There was some initial confusion from Jack who did not realize there were minds other than human in existence. Once Jack accepted the fact he was not going crazy, he and Arlon began a discussion which lasted most of the ten thousand years which Jack had to wait. They found very few situations where they had conflicting opinions. The situations they did find were of such small consequence, that they both agreed either one of their solutions would produce an acceptable outcome.
Split Merging
The process to merge Arlon's mind with Jack's was almost complete when Igz partially interrupted it by attacking the mind merging device. The protective spheres used to guard Arlon's mind had partially blocked the power feedback in the device. But enough of a surge built up to break off the components containing most of his memories. The spheres were now guarding what appeared to them as two minds. The artificial mind in the spheres concluded that the part which had been separated was to be merged with the mind of Walter, which was communicating with Jack when they arrived.
